Prepare for the most reviving summer mixed drink. Melon injected straightforward syrup, gin, cucumber cuts, melon balls, mint, and seltzer meet up in the most excellent manner. I quite often go for tequila based beverages, and some of the time vodka, however this one is changing my tune. I can't get over how great it is!
This excellence of a beverage is so light and summery and ideal for engaging, grills, and straight up unwinding. In the event that it could ever quit coming down here in Baltimore, I'd love to appreciate one of these outside or at the pool!
This formula is for one mixed drink, yet they are super effectively duplicated. The formula makes a huge amount of basic syrup, so you can make these for a group!
- For the melon simple syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. cantaloupe cubes or balls
- For the cocktail
- 2 oz. melon simple syrup
- 1.5 oz. gin
- 1 oz. seltzer water*
- melon balls/cubes
- cucumber slices
- ice
- fresh mint
- In a small saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Let boil for 30 seconds, remove from heat, and let cool completely. Once cooled, add to a blender or food processor with the cantaloupe cubes/balls. Blend until completely smooth.
- To make the drink, add ice to a cocktail shaker along with a fresh mint leaf. Add the simple syrup and gin, and shake for 30 seconds. Fill glass with ice, a few melon balls and cucumber slices, and then pour in the drink. Top with seltzer, stir to combine, and garnish with mint, and extra cantaloupe/cucumber slices!
